Shoprite starts selling Anas Halloween costumes

Retail giant Shoprite has began selling a range of Halloween costumes mimicking the feared investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

A spokesman for the retailer said demand for the Anas costumes has been “exceptionally high as more and more costumers ditch the bloody corpses and gory zombies for the more fearsome Anas Halloween costumes.”

The Anas range on offer includes the journalist’s trademark bucket hat with tiny beads hanging off the front- in a variety of colours and sizes, and a set of audio-visual recorders.

In a related development, one Justice Ajet Nassam, currently in a coded location has described the Anas costumes as “too scary and offensive” and is reportedly preparing a law suit against the South African retailer.
