Amoateng returns to Ghana with a passport bearing the name of Pablo Escobar

Eric Amoateng, the former MP for Nkoranza North purportedly returned to the country with a passport bearing the name of Pablo Escobar.

The former MP touched down at the Kotoka International Airport earlier this week to a heroin heroic welcome from members of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) after serving a 10-year jail term in the US.

Mr. Amoateng who was questioned by the police concerning his change of name explained that he had filed for a change of name while serving his jail time in the US. He further revealed that the change of name is because he wanted to give his NPP members a better name to chant when he touched down.

A sources within the NPP revealed there were intense discussions prior to settling on the name, “we wanted the name to reflect his status in our party. It was a toss up between Baron and Pablo, but in the end we settle on the latter.”
