Dzamefe Report recommends ‘Muntari slaps’ for all GFA and MoYS officials

Officials of the Ghana Football Association and the Minister of Youth and Sports who sanctioned the payment of $100, 000 to the Black Stars’ ball boy should be subjected to “Muntari slaps,” according to a recommendation by the Dzamefe Report.

The commission’s 396-page report which outlines Ghana’s shambolic showing at the last World Cup in Brazil concluded that “the payment of the $100, 000 to the national team’s “Equipment Officer” was nothing but plain thievery” and suggested that the “appropriate punishment for individuals implicated in the scandal should receive the dreaded Muntari slap.”

Sulley Muntari’s dreaded slap was last meted out to GFA officials when players of the national team mutinied over unpaid appearance fees during the last World Cup in Brazil.

The commission concluded that several slaps from the Black Stars player will not only be appropriate punishment for implicated individuals but will also serve as a deterrent.
