Ghana announces 4x100m and gymnastics teams for Rio 2016

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has this morning announced the line-up of Team Ghana’s 4x100m and gymnastics teams for the 2016 Summer Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The official team photos released by the GOC this morning seems to suggest that Team Ghana will compete the men’s 4x100m relays with a mixed gender squad- 3 males and a female. The relay team, nicknamed the “Bulky Foursome” is made up of a 3 males athletes with exceptional physiques that will turn Buddha green with envy. The female member of the 4x100m relay team, who is seen in the team photo jogging with a phone in hand and jewellery adorning both wrists, is rumoured to move faster than Usain Bolt– as long as there’s a $100m and a Guantanamo detainee at stake.

Team Ghana’s gymnastics team will be captained by a gymnast known as “The Ghost.” The gymnast earned his nickname for his docile nature and incredible ability to silently back-flip on promises. The gymnastics team is seen in the official photo “throwing up their hands in the air like they just don’t care.”

The Ghana Olympic Committee also disclosed Team Ghana’s slogan for the games which runs from the 5 – 21 August. “Get Gold Loot Ghana,” according to the GOC, “captures everything ‘The Bulky Foursome’ and ‘The Ghost’ stand for.”
