Yahya Jammeh wants to buy Greece so he can get an extra title

The Gambia’s long-serving President Yahya Jammeh says he is planning to buy cash-strapped Greece to enable him add the title of “Spartan” to his long list of titles.

President Jammeh who has been in power since 1994 recently added the title of “Babili Mansa” to his name. If he is able to acquire Greece, Mr Jammeh will be known as His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Abdul-Azziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh Babili Mansa Spartan, the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Chief Custodian of the Sacred Constitution of The Gambia.

The announcement of the intended acquisition came just hours after Greece failed to make a €1.5bn payment to the International Monetary Fund on time, leaving the European country on the brink of financial collapse.

Yahya Jammeh who survived a coup attempt in December 2014 said he plans to revive Greece’s ancient warrior society of Spartan. The leader who intends to rule for “one billion years… if Allah says so” explained that the Spartans will be used to defend his presidential palace.

Unlike the original Spartans whose only profession was waging war, Yahya Jammeh’s Spartans will have the sole aim of defending the one billion year rule of Yahya Jammeh.
